Putting Art in Your Pocket: Gary Taxali Pocket Squares for Harry Rosen
Put Art in Your Pocket.
I was very pleased to collaborate with Harry Rosen, Canada's premier luxury menswear retailer, on a series of artist-designed pocket squares. The first collection, themed "Canadiana", launched in November 2013 with five special-edition 100% silk pocket squares featuring artwork inspired by Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
As Larry Rosen, CEO of Harry Rosen, said: "We're passionate about pocket squares. It's important for men to inject some playful elements into their wardrobe, and these unique artist-designed accessories pack a lot of personality."
The collaboration was so successful that we followed up with two more collections: "The Art of Flirtation" and "The Classic Man". Each pocket square was reproduced on high-quality Italian silk with hand-rolled and stitched edges, retailing at $95.
The launch events at Harry Rosen's flagship store on Bloor Street in Toronto drew strong crowds and press coverage:
The Unfamous brand was founded by Gary Taxali and his sister, Vandana Taxali.
