I am pleased to share my solo exhibition "Unfamous: The Works of Gary Taxali" at First Canadian Place Gallery in downtown Toronto.

Curated by Kelly McCray, the exhibition ran from December 12, 2016 to January 27, 2017, with an artist talk on December 15 from 5-7 pm at 100 King Street West.

The show featured a comprehensive selection of my work spanning paintings, illustrations, and mixed media pieces. The title "Unfamous" is a word I invented and use frequently in my art -- it speaks to the beauty of the overlooked, the everyday, the unheralded.

A short film, "Gary Taxali: The Art of Whimsy", which premiered at Canadian Art's Reel Artists Film Festival (RAFF), was screened in conjunction with the exhibition.
